::FAQ
The questions that come up most, answered.
The ones brand owners raise most, grouped by what comes up first. Start at the top and read down, or jump straight to the part you need.
- Brand Atlas is a brand identity management tool. It is the one place your brand is kept right and kept usable, for every hand and tool that touches it. It holds the brand, hands the right brief to whoever you reach for next, and checks the work that comes back.
- A PDF and a folder store files and freeze on the day they ship. Brand Atlas keeps the brand instead. It stays current, gets used as a link, and checks the work against the brand. A file stores. Brand Atlas keeps.
- Keep using them; the work can happen wherever it happens. But a folder in Drive, a page in Notion, or a kit in Canva stores files, and files freeze on the day they ship. None of them can tell the next hand what's right, stay current in every copy, or check the work that comes back. Brand Atlas does those three jobs, and through links, gates, and ATLAS.md, the tools you already use get the brand with the work.
- Move it in. Brand Atlas is built for the moment a finished brand needs a home that isn't a file. The structure is already there.
- The person who invested in the brand, and everyone who touches it after: an in-house team, a freelancer, a vendor, another agency, an AI tool. The owner keeps the brand right. Everyone else gets it the way the owner holds it, without having to ask.
- No, and that is on purpose. Brand Atlas briefs the work and checks what comes back. It doesn't design the logo, write the campaign, or make the asset. The making stays with you and the people and tools you already use. Brand Atlas keeps all of it on-brand.
- Eight sections, the structure every finished brand already has: Logo and Identity, Typography, Colour System, Applications, Strategy, Voice, Photography, Social. The structure comes from studying more than 150 real brand guidelines across sectors, so it covers what a complete brand needs. Add Horizons for anything beyond the eight, like packaging, a motion language, or a press kit.
- Anything a team needs to work on the brand. Craft sections like packaging or motion. Context sections like the customer profile the brand sells to (your ICP), the sales channel mix, or the benchmarks a campaign has to hit. You author it once, it stays current for every hand, and it rides in ATLAS.md with the rest of the brand.
- You edit it yourself. The interface is kept simple for every founder and brand owner, not just designers. Type, change colours, upload images, the way you'd update a doc.
- In the brand, ready to download: the logo files, the fonts, the templates, everything someone needs to work on the brand, always the current version.
- Yes. Send a link or a gate and they can read the brand without an account. They always have the right answer without asking you.
- Yes. ATLAS.md is your whole brand as a single file you can drop into any AI tool that takes context. It rebuilds itself when the brand changes, so it is never out of date.
- For now, Brand Atlas is built for desktop, where editing, typing, and uploads work best. Our team is working to bring you the same seamless experience you have on desktop to your other devices, and it is on the way.
- Yes. From inside your brand you can reach out to our team for the work a tool can't do: a new lockup, packaging, the next stage of the brand. They connect you with the studios we partner with, briefed and quoted per project.
- The in-product AI that has read every section of your brand. Hand it a caption, a layout, or a deck slide, and Oswald checks it against the brand and tells you what is off and why. That on-brand verdict is the on-brand seal. Oswald is on the Guardian tier.
- No. A chatbot answers from general knowledge. Oswald answers from your brand, and its job is to check work against it, not to chat. It catches the basics so you only spend judgment on the calls that need it.
- Henry is your assistant on the paid tiers, there for the brand questions that come up while you work, and to help you build parts of the brand you don't have yet. Oswald, on Guardian, is the check: it reviews work against the brand. Reach for Henry to think something through, Oswald to check a piece of work.
- Yes. Henry runs on your own OpenAI or Gemini key. You add the key once in settings, and Henry works inside the product from there. The docs walk you through it.
- No. Your brand stays yours. We don't use your brand to train anything for anyone else.
- Yes. The AI is there when you want it. The brand sections work the same with it off.
- Yes. Your brand and your files are private and stored securely. Only you and the people you choose to share with can open them.
- Only you, anyone you make an editor, and anyone you send a link or a gate to. No one else.
- Yes. Your brand is yours. You can export it any time with ATLAS.md and take it with you.

- Yes. Once Brand Atlas opens you will get 14 days with the full feature set. If you do not pick a paid plan at the end, you drop to the free tier and keep your brand. Anything above the free tier goes read-only until you upgrade again. Nothing is deleted.
- No. You pay the tier price, nothing to set up.
- Any time, in either direction, from the next billing cycle. Nothing is deleted when you move down.
- They stay. Horizons above your new tier go read-only, so you can still read and trim them, and they come back in full the moment you move up.
- Yes, there is no lock-in and no exit fee. Cancelling is not self-serve yet, so get in touch and we will take care of it for you. You drop to free Scout, so the foundation of your brand stays with you.
- One brand per subscription on Scout, Keeper, and Guardian. For more than one brand, either Marshal or Enterprise manages them together: Marshal for a larger team stepping up from Guardian, Enterprise for a bigger organisation. Both are priced to your team, so get in touch and we'll scope it.
- The tier for a larger team, or more than one brand. Guardian keeps a single brand with the check on every asset. Marshal takes that across your brands and your team, priced to what you need. Get in touch and we'll scope it with you.
- For a bigger organisation that needs Brand Atlas built around how it works. Custom scope and a quote put together with you. There is no published price, so get in touch and we'll scope it.
- Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment your spot is ready. No card, and no sales call to sit through.
- The structure is already there. Fill the pre-designed templates, or build your own sections with Horizons, and move your brand in. It is ready to share, often the same day.
- Reach out and a real person helps. On the paid tiers, Henry is on hand inside the product too.
- Arabic is coming, the website and the product both, including on-brand Arabic translation inside the tool. It is not live yet. When it ships, it will be built properly for the region, not run through a translator.
